![]() * (along with GMail not quite sure what the point of that tab is when you've probably worked hard to configure it on IMAP if you're using Thunderbird). ![]() I'll probably go back to BitLBee + libpurple + Hexchat for Hangouts support, but this is obviously not to everyone's taste. Thanks for the free extension, while it lasted, it was appreciated. But like this? Sorry, you just destroyed my trust. If there had been a warning, I might have even shelled out the five bucks for the pro version. With not even a pop-up telling you about future plans to do this, most people will have been searching around wondering why their Hangouts tab has disappeared (and isn't available from the Customize Menu options). I get that the author probably views this as a way to encourage revenue generation, but done like this with no warning it just generates ill-will. ![]() I would use Pop OS, but I thought it might be risky to disable secure boot since I'm still going to be running Windows.Removed the only tab I use Hangouts. I was thinking about Using Kubuntu, Ubuntu, or Ubuntu Budgie. My favourite of them is Pop because it's the easiest for me to use via keyboard only and it's pretty minimalist.Īlso this site may come in handy for finding linux alternatives to things For example I installed KDE and it automatically changed all my GNOME settings to match it, and I didn't have a backup so it took a while to get everything back to how I like it.Īlso people seem to say KDE is most familiar for Windows users, but IMO they are all equally distinct and take a little (but not too much) getting used to. For you desktop environment, just a quick heads up but you should try them first from the live image, and only have one installed on you actual system, especially if you're a beginner because having multiple will mess with your settings for the other.
